I'll believe Brady is retired when week one kicks off without him. However, his comments yesterday about family gives me a little less confidence that he will be back. His talk about more time with family could push him into retirement. It isn't just the games or the practices, it is the amount of physical preparation to stay in game shape. At 20, I could run five miles without even bothering to stretch. By the time I was 45, I had to do various stretches for bowling. I'd hate to think the amount of time older athletes spend working out and getting worked on in order to compete with guys just out of college.

Also think Brady is only interested in returning if he believes Tampa has a real shot at a Super Bowl. If they start losing players because of the salary cap or to free agency his desire to spend more time with his family could greatly increase.
