How does the federal government "create" more hospital beds? Apart from military facilities, they don't run hospitals, do they? SFAIK most hospitals are private, university-affiliated, or run by local municipalities. Surely you don't want the feds taking over yet more state, local, and/or private functions! I would say the best way to achieve your goal would be to create, via legislation, a friendlier business environment for for-profit hospitals and clinics. A capitalist solution, in other words. With a lot less regulation and red tape. I know, I know -- in my dreams . . .

Agree with what you said but there are ways. The USNS Comfort created more hospital beds in NYC as well as converting the Javits Center. But those we temporary. Construction tax breaks for for-profit hospitals to create or convert space, like you suggest, would be another such way.

Why would Brooklyn want him? Simmons is a selfish, petulant, mess. Plenty of other big men are out there for much less cap space who will not stretch the floor, play soft defense, and pass up easy shots.

Selfish, petulant mess? That basically describes Kyrie as well.

Just a thought but Philly could use Kyrie's scoring and Brooklyn could use Simmons defense as Harden and KD have his scoring deficiencies in the 4th quarter covered. Does Philly have a vaccine mandate?
