Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Having a Real ID will be required to travel starting today (or you can have a regular license and a valid passport). This requirement was put in place in response to September 11th (which happened more than 24-years ago). That's a perfect example of how slow the government "works" ... President Trump signed an Executive Order outlawing any Gain of Function research paid for by the government (either domestically or on foreign soil). Can't think of anyone who could possibly be for this sort of "research." Congress should create a bill making Gain of Function illegal across the board so that a future President can't suddenly allow it with an EO of their own... Invest in America!... Ford posted record revenue in 2024 and is second in EV in America only trailing Tesla but their EV division is still losing money on electric cars. What to do?... It wasn't just Gain of Function that was ended in the Oval Office - it was also NIH experimentation on poor beagles. Anthony Fauci is a monster and needs to be prosecuted. Hats off to Senator Rand Paul who has been calling him out as a monster for years... In perhaps the least surprising news of the spring - the Baltimore Ravens cut kicker Justin Tucker who WAS on a track to be a Hall of Fame player but 16 allegations of sexual misconduct and too many missed kicks last season made him expendable. My guess it was the missed kicks that sealed his fate... About 90% of Iranian oil sold to foreign markets is purchased by China. If the Trump Administration follows through with threats than any country that does business with Iran cannot do business with the US - it could place China in a Sophies choice position - oil or business with the US... The Real ID Act was signed into law by George W. Bush in 2005 (twenty years ago!) but you can be sure frustrated travelers will blame Donald Trump for it instead of George W. (who probably won't even be asked about it)... Would be interested in a DOGE report showing just how much taxpayer money the government was spending on Gain of Function... Speaking of DOGE - Elon Musk announced that over 100,000 actively employed federal workers applied for and received unemployment payments. They need to be fired an prosecuted ASAP!...
