Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
I'm currently reading "Vicksburg: Grant's Campaign That Broke the Confederacy." The Shiloh death statistic is mentioned in the book along with how the taking of Columbus, KY likely kept KY in the Union.
Currently reading Grant by Ron Chernow. It's very comprehensive and well done. I'll have to look into Vicksburg. Thanks
I assume you finished A Distant Mirror. Thoughts?
Started reading A Distant Mirror but had to put it down. Studied the history in other books but found it a bit boring. Sorry.
Will pick up later but for now - taking a break.
It certainly dragged and I would have preferred it to be about half as many pages.
