I agree a lot of things have been flown up, and ships sunk, but actual chemical weapons were removed years ago. There was even a second process after the Russian intervention. HTS taking over is going to be a bad deal for a lot of people, which seems to be the intention of some players.
Fredrick not sure if you were joking because I read that article and not sure if the words of UN inspectors, the Obama Administration, or the Assad regime could be trusted. Two things are facts - Assad did use chemical weapons against his own people and something was blown up by the Israeli's(who claimed it was chemical weapons).
Npt sure if HTS will prove to be as bad or worse than the Assad regime but I am willing to wait and see.
I certainly agree none of the three, UN, Obama, Assad, are very trustworthy. There's a long, and now buried in the internet, history debunking most of the chemical weapons usage. Obama and Trump were both being prodded into intervention into Syria, now it looks like other parties cut deals to, as Kamala liked to say, be "unburdened by what had been".
HTS is the successor to al-Nursa, which succeeded ISIS. I don't think we will have to wait long to see which if it is better for anyone there.
Israel is tooting its own horn. Syria disposed of their chemical weapons while Obama was still president.
Have no idea what is actually happening in Syria - have seen some photos that show something substantial was destroyed though. Will look into it.
