It's 12 Angry Men Syndrome writ large. When the voter or juror decides that he is the story rather than the candidate or defendant, punishment and ostracism must ensue. HOF needs a 3% rule - vote so badly that you are opposed by 97% of the other writers on the high end or the low and lose your privileges forever. Same should go for trials - if you're the lone vote hanging a jury you're not brave, you need an equal sentence to the offender.

Agree that all HoF voters should have to have their ballots made public. There's many who already do - taking the time to explain who they are voting for and why. I respect these voters even if sometime I don't agree with them.

People like the person who didn't vote for Ichiro don't deserve a vote. The system needs to be updated and revamped.

Like the 12 Angry Men analogy but what if that guy is Henry Fonda? If made public and can explain their vote much more persuasive. This anonymity is chickenshit.
