Will Biden Resign or Be Replaced?
After his dismal debate performance many Dems no longer support him.
Swear I always have considered myself an Independent voter. I have always believed in voting for the person not the party. In 2016 Presidential election cycle I voted for Gary Johnson for the top ticket. Most viewers saw the sitting President at the debate and thought, “This is a disaster!” Then wondered who actually is in charge?
This Presidential election I can’t see anyone voting for any candidate but Donald Trump after Thursday’s debate performance by Joe Biden. As I’ve mentioned I can’t help but think anyone rational watching the debate had the same immediate thought, “Is everyone seeing this too?”
After the debate many hardcore Dems have panicked and wondered if they can afford for Biden to remain in the race. After a quick reflection they wondered if they can really afford a President Kamala Harris either. Maybe with the specter of Kamala as his replacement in mind is why Biden insists he won’t step aside.
It’s getting harder and harder for anyone in the media or on the other side of the aisle to keep up this charade. Republicans have been stating the obvious for a while now and suddenly many who have been fooling themselves suddenly have to face the truth.
Maybe Biden’s more afraid of being indicted for corruption if he is out of office than he is of dying in office or of a President Harris? Either way it seems the Democrats are admitting what may people have been saying for a long time. There are no deep fakes just an old, corrupt, dementia-ridden President.
Many are calling for Joe Biden to drop out. And the calls are getting louder. And the hope is Joe Biden isn’t too far gone to acknowledge the truth.
For Biden to replaced at this summer’s DNC Convention the following steps would have to happen:
Joe Biden must voluntarily step aside before the convention and that date is coming fast (August 19-22 in Chicago).
The delegates at the Convention would have to vote on a replacement. The big question between now and then will be what replacement could possible beat Trump.
In theory the DNC have rules for such a procedure but given the circumstances they will most likely act in such a way they feel best - rule or no rule.
Look for many pundits to skip over the first step of urging Joe to step away to talk about who his best replacement could be. This is happening fast.
