Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Have to wonder if Joe Biden's two-page letter saying he's staying in the Presidential race was meant to turn the donor spigots back on. Some donors stopped - unsure if giving money to Biden was just a waste of investment or if he was even still staying in the race. Meanwhile some categorically said "no more." We’d be able to get to the bottom of this if journalists still followed the simple credo of follow the money... Heh Heh... I too like Warren Buffett's idea that if Congress passes a budget that exceeds 3% of GDP then those current sitting members lose the eligibility to be re-elected. Probably required an Amendment to the Constitution but even if that passed then retiring members of the House would have no incentive not to spend their asses off or the party out of power to use it as a way to maybe regain a majority. Imagine a retiring Republican from the Midwest proposing tons of money for the high speed rail project in California just to get Nancy Pelosi and other California Dems to vote against it... Admit that I've become a bigger Novak Djokovic fan since his anti-vaccine stance and actively root for him now... Trump's Presidential platform. Needs to be spread widely... Wonder if it would be possible to name a pro team the Brewers today? How about naming a team "the Pot Growers" to see if that works?... Think I'm looking forward to football season more this year because it as a distraction to all the news generated by politics these days. None of the news about the Presidential election, border, or economy seems especially welcome or uplifting. Come on football!... Netflix announces a live Joe Rogan special on August 3rd at 10:00 EST. The Tom Brady Roast was their biggest show of all-time and maybe Rogan is shooting to beat that... Use the "babysitter test" to determine who I vote for. Simply put would I trust this person to babysit my kids? Joe Biden definitely doesn't pass that test... The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl was released 21-years ago. Have seen the movie many times but never have watched any of the sequels... If politics keep getting worse I may be forced into maybe following soccer or the WNBA. I may even start to follow baseball again just as a distraction from it...
