Saddened by the news of Willie Mays passing aged 93. The Say Hey Kid lived a full and long life. Many considered him the greatest ballplayer who ever lived. He was before my time but it was a comfort that such a legend was still among us. As the saying goes, “May his memory be a blessing”… Normally when it’s a team from the US vs a team from Canada - I’m rooting for the team from the US every time. Not when it’s Florida vs Edmonton for the Stanley Cup though. Can’t stand the Panthers. They bridge the line of dirty play on most hits they deliver and always seem phony actors on every hit they receive. Plus they eliminated the Bruins these past two seasons. Go Oilers!… Never forget what they took from us in the name of "inclusiveness"... Tip of the cap to Brad Stevens whose trades since becoming the President of Basketball Operations have been gold. He traded Kemba Walker for Al Horford (first player born in the Dominican to win a championship), traded for Derrick White, traded Marcus Smart for Porzingis (first Latvian player to win a championship), and traded for Jrue Holiday. He’s built a juggernaut... Question has to be asked - because of Covid and lockdowns did more people stop believing in government and science and more people believing in religion?... Classy move by the Celtics... Having said the above about Brad Stevens let me also say that I hope Boston gives a ring to Danny Ainge who not only hired Stevens but also drafted both Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum... The movie Predator was released 37-years ago. The original alien was going to be Jean Claude Van Dam of all people but he was fired after just 2-days... He's a man of his word... The Oilers won last night’s game 5-3 last night to force a game 6 in Edmonton on Friday. Connor McDavid had another 4-point performance and a good case could be made that he should be the series MVP even if the Oilers eventually lose… Daily Coach on Tom Brady's advice. If you haven’t listened to Brady’s original speech from the Patriots Hall of Fame ceremony - it’s worth your time...
