It can be said that homo economicus, or economic man who makes rational decisions based upon money, is so rare because some are aware that we only have one life and money isn’t everything. While it may not be true of others because they haven’t had that realization or lack the common sense to make good decisions… When Kemmons Wilson first started Holiday Inn he first approach home builders, because he was one too, with an offer to sell a franchise to their city for just $500 and a user fee of $.05 per room rented. He ended up very lucky that so few colleagues took him up on his bargain basement offer… Reminder… It is clear that you cannot trust any of the economic numbers from China because they just won't allow any bad news to be reported. After seeing the economic numbers revised down month after every month since he took office can the same also be said of the Biden Administration? Really why should you trust them at this point... The US Military once banned the Kirk Douglas starring, Stanley Kubrick directed film Paths of Glory because it was viewed as too anti-war... The name Holiday Inn actually came from the Bing Crosby film of the same name because Wilson’s architect happened to like the film and the name. The name stuck… Heard from someone associated with the NFL that Taylor Swift was first introduced to Travis Kelce by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid who knew the singer from his time in Philly. Thanks coach!... Some people clearly don’t know history… One of the reasons for Kemmons Wilson creating Holiday Inn is that he wanted a place where kids stayed free. There were very few of those places around before the advent of the highway system… It is also rumored that if Kansas City wins the Super Bowl that Andy Reid or Travis Kelce or possibly both may walk away from football. Neither needs the money and health has to be a concern for both of them… I stand with farmers no matter where they are… It is said that a graduate from a good high school in 1927 could make $33,000 in their lifetime while a graduate from a good college could make triple that. Today a graduate is lucky to get a job at Starbucks. It’s not inflation that’s to blame…
