How funny would it be if the person who approved State Farm supporting a LGBTQ children's book was actually the Mayhem guy from Allstate? That would make for a hilarious commercial... If I ran the State Department one of the first things I'd do is designate the World Economic Forum Police as a terrorist organization... Ricky Gervais is taking flack for so-called transphobic jokes in his new Netflix special. I think he shouldn't be taking flack for his jokes but because he's perhaps the most overrated big-name comedian. Not even close to the talent of a Dave Chappelle or a Bill Burr. I turned his special off half-way through. Not because I was offended - I turned it off because he wasn't funny... All the word salad that spews from the mouth of Kamala Harris brings to mind this quote from Winston Churchill, "[she] can best be described as one of those orators who, before they get up, do not know what they are going to say; when they are speaking, do not know what they are saying; and when they have sat down, do not know what they have said."... Everyone seems to have a Waffle House story - here's mine. At a Waffle House couple years ago in Nashville with my girlfriend. Waitress brings us our coffee and takes our order and then just quits. Walks right out the back door. Manager finally realizes one of his waitresses had quit, apologizes to us and has another waitress get us our food. Manager later comes over and says due to our having to experience that he's going to take 20% off our bill. Prince of a guy that manager. No wonder that waitress quit... This stat took me by surprise: most points in their first 65 playoff games for the Boston Celtics - Larry Bird and Jason Tatum both with1,486... According to the bible - Noah's ark would have been about half the size of the Titanic. Thank goodness Noah didn't run into any icebergs... If you think about it - Sam and Frodo basically hiked the entire distance of the Appalachian Trail to get the ring from the Shire to Mount Doom. Some day I’d love to hike the Appalachian trail while reading Lord of the Rings on my kindle on the way... Boston sports fans have nothing to complain about. For the past 15-years the Patriots led the NFL in playoff wins with 18; the Celtics lead the NBA in playoff wins with 104 (not counting tonight's win in Miami); the Bruins are second in the NHL in playoff wins with 93 (behind the Penguin's 102); and the Red Sox are second in MLB playoff wins with 46 (behind the Dodgers with 60). You'd never know how good we've had it if you listen to Boston sports talk radio... As always if this column has made you smile or think - don't be afraid to hit the like button.
