If McDonalds is really a Real Estate company fronting as a fast food chain as some claim and if the War in Ukraine is really about a land grab by Russia - how much land did Putin gain by McDonalds abandoning all their Russian franchise locations?... Love that the Celtics traded for Malcolm Brogdon without Boston giving up any of their key assets. Yes worried about Brogdon's injury history but the fact that Milwaukee let him leave as a free agent to Indiana in the first place when the Bucks were in win-now mode also gnaws at me a bit... I keep getting fundraising emails from Nancy Pelosi. Every time I get one I report it as spam. Every time. Yet I still keep getting them. I have to wonder if this is a potential Republican dirty trick sending these emails to independent voters to get them pissed off at the Democratic Party. If so hats off for the devious ploy. It could also be Google not believing anything from Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats could possibly be spam. If so not cool. Very not cool... Danny Ainge and the Utah Jazz traded Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves getting a haul that included four first round picks along with 2022 first-round pick Walker Kessler in return. What are the odds Ainge turns around and offers those assets plus whatever to Brooklyn for Kevin Durant? That trade would make NBA heads explode. Then again there's probably a better chance that Ainge is blowing up the franchise and plans to tank this year... "The logical end of defensive warfare is surrender." - Napoleon. That's the quote that keeps running through my head any time I read updates on the War in Ukraine... Fan of these Real Life Doodles where arms are added to birds or snakes. Then again my sense of humor is a bit warped... Recently occurred to me that lyrically and message wise - J. Geils song Give It to Me is very similar to Baby It's Cold Outside but one is less "rapey" and the other more "Christmassy"... History fans are aware that World War I was kicked off by the lone gunman Gavrilo Princip assassinating Archduke Franz Ferdinand but few are aware of the comedy of errors by Ferdinand's chauffeur that put the Archduke in a position to be shot in the first place. A wrong turn, trouble turning around, and stalling at the worst possible spot. The name of the chauffeur has been lost to history but in my head I always picture him as Mr. Bean. Would make a great skit by Rowan Atkinson... Think the next major move in college sports would be for Notre Dame to exit their relationship with the ACC and join the Big 10 for all sports except football which will remain independent for as long as possible (i.e. for as long as their TV contract with NBC pays the bills)...
