It will be interesting to watch the inevitable class action lawsuit by Twitter investors against management for their fraudulently inflated subscriber numbers and censorship policies. What will be interesting to watch is which investors join the lawsuit and which do not. The ones who do, in my opinion, are the real investors while those who do not are probably complicit in using the platform for their own goals and purposes... Have you heard the phrase "the buck stops here?" The "buck" is actually a poker term. It is the puck/token that is passed from the player who just dealt to the next player to deal to keep track of whose deal it is. The saying took root because of Harry S. Truman (who was an avid poker player). When President Truman said, "the buck stops here" - he meant that he would take action (i.e. deal) and not leave it to someone else to act (i.e "pass the buck"). With Joe Biden the buck never stops with him... Vince Wilfork has been elected to the Patriots Hall of Fame. The other finalists this year were Logan Mankins and Mike Vrabel. New England has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to great players these past 25-years... In 1086 William the Conqueror ordered the survey and census of all of England to be compiled into the famous Doomsday Book. Elon Musk, if successful in his acquisition, should order his own digital Doomsday Book survey of all the subscribers and algorithms of Twitter. Guessing a transparent inventory of Twitter would be pretty eye-opening... Once again I think People Magazine is making a huge mistake in not contacting me for their Sexiest Man Alive issue. Huge mistake!... Apropos of nothing - I miss Donald Rumsfeld. Say what you want of him but he was an adult in the room with common sense... How many people remember that Senator Tim Kaine was Hillary's running mate in 2016? Has any politician ever disappeared more completely and so quickly than Tim Kaine?... It would be amusing if California were to break into two states with the Southern part to be called "Cali" and the Northern half to be called "Fornia"... As I write this Twitter stock is now at $37.02 - a more than 30% drop from Musk's original offer of $54.20. It is now getting closer to that $30 per share valuation Goldman Sachs made a while back. Makes you wonder if Goldman Sachs knew the real deal with the company... As always if this column has made you smile or think - don't be afraid to hit the like button.
