Amused by the NFL taking away two high draft picks from the Miami Dolphins plus fining owner Stephen Ross $1.5 million and suspending him from any team activities for the first six games of this season - all for improper tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Payton starting in 2019. The timing of when the tampering happened is what's interesting. Tom Brady was still under contract with the Patriots at the time (not the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Sean Payton was under contract as head coach for the New Orleans Saints. Stephen Ross is proving to be a bigger buffoon than even maybe Daniel Snyder... The great Vin Scully on socialism... The baseball trade deadline used to be a big day for me. I cared a lot and knew all the players. Now? Not at all - couldn't care less and happier for it... Think the premise of Choco Tacos being discontinued is a scam. Oh no - Choco Tacos are going away! Better rush to the store to get yours before they're gone! What should we do with the last 900 Choco Tacos in existence? Thanks for all the free publicity and based upon the support Choco Tacos have received there's no way we can discontinue them at this time... Heh heh - awesome! Have to get one of those for my friends who has a pug... If the White House were to announce Grima Wormtongue as the new Press Secretary - would that be an upgrade or a lateral move over the current one?... Just a reminder - this is no vaccine for stupidity... Have to think the NFL's ruling against Stephen Ross helps Brian Flores lawsuit against the Dolphins and the NFL. Ross's actions show he was a loose cannon who disregarded rules and thought they did not apply to him. The way its going Brian Flores will be in the league a lot longer than Stephen Ross (and deservedly so)... And speaking of stupidity - saying someone's brain is not the correct weight is such a great way to call somebody stupid. Going to have to remember that one... Wait? What? How? In my mind I imagine them having to do this one million times to get it exactly right... File under the more things change the more they stay the same, "The Democratic Party in power is a standing menace to the prosperity of the country." That's a Republican campaign motto from the election of 1888... As always if this column has made you smile or think - don't be afraid to hit the like button.
