Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

People have been conditioned to "support the current thing" but when the current thing becomes the FBI raiding the home of the former President without any charges - that may prove a bridge too far for many people. People only want to support the current thing if they can convince themselves they are right in doing so. It is difficult for people to see how weaponizing the FBI for political purposes can be good... Fred Astaire may have been one of the most athletically gifted and coordinated persons who ever lived... If there is a "red wave" in November and the Republicans take back the House and the Senate - how soon after the election do you think Joe Biden will provide his son Hunter with a blanket Presidential pardon? I'd put the over/under date at Thanksgiving... The great David McCullough has passed. I've read many of his books and have added a few more to my book wish list. However, his passing may be the thing that finally gets me to subscribe to Aubible.com to listen to books as McCullough took the time to read a few of his own books such as 1776, The Wright Brothers, and Brave Companions. McCullough had one of the great voices and to hear him read his own words should be a special treat... Read a report that Liz Cheney's husband is a partner at the law firm that represents Hunter Biden. Many will be disgusted by the clear conflicts of interests here but also guessing some will be confused. Husband? I though she was the gay daughter?... I'm an awful person for laughing at this (and an even worse person for thinking of trying this trick on a friend)... I wouldn't want to live in a country where the President can't be investigated for wrongdoing or corruption but it is maddening for me and for others I assume that one political side seems to play by rules that they make up as they go along and those new rules cannot be applied to themselves. Maddening... Is there a more cool or heroic verb than the word "Thwart?" Think about it - the context around the use of that word is almost always cool and heroic... Speaking of cool - how cool is Roger Federer for doing this? Be sure to watch the whole thing. It'll put a smile on your face...
