Was surprised but not shocked at Michigan beating Ohio State or at Lincoln Riley leaving Oklahoma for USC. However, I was completely shocked by Brian Kelly leaving Notre Dame for LSU... Think the time is ripe for a Primary Colors type book of a slightly-fictionalized account of either Joe Biden getting the Democratic nomination and winning the election or the true backroom handling of the COVID outbreak. That book would be a certain best-seller... Think I could embrace Thomas Kinkade paintings much more if someone randomly inserted Gandalf the White images into the scenery... At this time of year we should remember the homeless. And we should also remember to ask why there hasn't been an overwhelming number of homeless deaths from the COVID virus. It's almost as if since they don't watch the news or vote - that somehow makes them totally immune... Many people have made the observation that the Patriots Mac Jones may be the best rookie QB from this draft class. He may also be as good or better than both Joe Burrow from the Bengals or Justin Hebert of the Chargers, who were the top 2 QB's from last year's draft as well... Reminder - there are still thousands of Americans still stuck in Afghanistan and seemingly forgotten about by this Administration... I still haven't gotten over Brian Kelly leaving Assumption College in Worcester... The R-FAM's (Rage-Fueled Amoral Misanthropes) would be a good name for a punk rock cover band... Don't think it would be going too far out on a limb to predict that by 2025 the US will once again be energy independent and that 50% or more of school age children will be either home-schooled or enrolled in charter or private schools... Editing My Reality would be a good name for a blog... Speaking of school children - with the National School Board Association losing about half of its member states due to the actions and overreach of its leadership - you'd think resignations would be in order. I guess nobody takes responsibility for anything these days... Big sports fan but I really could care less about the MLB-MLBPA labor negotiations. Don't care - have a lockout, a strike, or play on schedule. Don't care - and I used to be a huge baseball fan... Some people will use Brian Kelly leaving Notre Dame to justify keeping the Fighting Irish out of the playoffs and letting other teams leapfrog them. Truth is the selection committee was going to leapfrog over Notre Dame anyway but Kelly leaving gave them a convenient excuse.. Inflation always leaves its mark! The US economy of the late 1980's under Reagan was much better than the economy of the late 1970's under Carter but the prices and wages were still higher because once inflation moves prices up - they stay there. Wage increases or cost of living increases are never given back... As always if this column has made you smile or think - don't be afraid to hit the like button.
