Justin Trudeau's behavior these past couple of weeks make sense if you think he's trying to pull a Constanza trying to get fired from the New York Yankees. If declaring Marshall law doesn't work look for him to drag the Stanley Cup behind the bumper of his car next... The Coinbase ad during the Super Bowl was genius - and very effective. The QR code slowly bouncing around the screen for 60 seconds resulted in 20 million hits on the Coinbase website in the minutes after the ad ran and Coinbase's app went from 186th to 2nd in the app store overnight... One of my favorite bits of PJ O'Rourke trivia is that the very conservative O'Rourke was once married to the daughter of Hollywood uber lefty director Sidney Lumet (of whom I was also a fan)... Speaking of Hollywood - Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hall will be hosting the 94th Oscars. In other news - the 94th Oscars to have the lowest viewership ratings in history... Not sure if this report is true but supposedly the LEAST popular names for babies born in 2021 were Adolph once again for boys and Kamala this year for girls... When the book is written on the protest of the Canadian truckers the subtitle should definitely be "Now is the winter of our discontent"... NFL prediction for next season - Jimmy Garoppolo to be the starting QB for the Denver Broncos... Decades ago a company called Frankenstein Recycling ran an ad on the local Worcester cable system. It was basically a digital business card but it was upside down on the screen for 30 seconds. So simple yet so memorable - even decades later. The Coinbase ad reminded me of that. That's the hallmark of a successful ad... 26-years ago yesterday the Cleveland Browns fired coach Bill Belichick. Know I have some Browns fans who read this and just wanted to remind them... Finally - today was supposed to be the start of Spring Training. Did you know that? Do you care? I really don't... PJ was not conservative, he was right off center compared to the communists in the Ivy League and merely played the last of 'Republican' for the paycheck, much like George Will did. The mask was removed when both actively opposed Donald Trump not once but twice, and bought into and propagated every vicious, evil, and false story about the man.
Couple nits to pick.
1. The Cleveland Browns did NOT fire Belichick. The team had already been moved to Baltimore by that scumbag Modell. The Browns were officially ended by the NFL on 9 February. The Baltimore franchise fired Belichick 2 weeks later.
2. It is "martial law."
The coinbase thing must be an age targeted thing. I remarked to the wife, "what the heck was that last ad for?" and then forgot about it. Doubt many (any?) over 60 got it, but I guess that's okay, we're clearly not the target demographic for any advertising except medicine and Depends.
Actually, surprised Kamala was least popular. While I'm no fan of the VP, I have to assume some were excited about a POC VP. I would have guess that the name Karen would have killed off by all the negative memes.
