Tuesday Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
It used to be considered wise to nominate Supreme Court Justices rather young with the idea that they will be at their post for a long time and thus extend the influence of your administration. Donald Trump has taken this one step further and nominated younger people to positions of power starting with JD Vance who is one of the youngest (and smartest) VP's in history and extending that process to his cabinet nominations. Even people like Tulsi Gabbard who had been on the DC scene for a while is now viewed through the lense of a Trumper... Someone once asked Jimmy Hendrix what it was like to be the greatest guitarist in the world and he responded, “I don’t know - I’m not Terry Kath”… So now do we start seeing people posting "Not my President?” What are the odds those same people also post their preferred pronouns?... Do you think that the advertising company that came up with Jaguar’s new commercial ever that mention that to potential clients?… If I had to compare Trump to a past President it would probably be Andrew Jackson who really shook things up and the establishment also tried to drag down... Joe Biden excludes Elon Musk and Tesla from the EV summit at the White House. Gavin Newsome, “Hold my beer.” Reminded Tesla is the only EV manufacturer that builds vehicles in California… Some Democrats say they plan to fight Trump’s attempts to deport illegal immigrants to which I say, “Good!” Makes it a it easier to identify and defeat them in a general election. Most Americans are against illegal immigration and the people elected are supposed to be representatives of the people… Remember when I was young Jerry Rice was caught naked in a raid of a massage parlor to which he said he just wanted a massage and some of his new Raider teammates recommended the place. Adult Chris thinks “I know why you were there”… Supposedly Donald Trump will eliminate the Department of Education which was established by Jimmy Carter (shouldn’t we be eliminating all his mistakes on people’s lives?). Big question is if he’ll also eliminate George W.’s mistake of making student loans exempt from bankruptcy laws…. Today the driving home from Fort Lauderdale continues…
