Tesla announced that its FSD (full self driving) software is now available in China and their stock jumped on the news. Part of me wonders if Tesla is doing this because the regulatory hurdles are easier in China than the US or Europe. The other part of me wonders if China is allowing this so they can steal Tesla's FSD technology... If they outlaw peanuts and bananas only outlaws will have peanuts and bananas... NPR's CEO Katherine Maher has largely let the furor over her handling of the publicly funded media outlet die down but don't forget to let your elected representatives know that you neither approve of her hire or of your tax dollars funding NRP's propaganda (which is what it is under her stewardship)... The Democrats may be planning in replacing Kamala Harris at this summer's DNC convention with the idea of replacing Joe Biden with that choice either before or after the election in November... OK I'll say it! Joel Embiid may be very big and very talented but he is also out of shape and dirty. There - I said it. Glad he's not on Boston... RB Ezekiel Elliot signs to return to the Dallas Cowboys. Not sure how I feel about this but I am grateful for last season with the Patriots... Another reminder - thousands have seen my petition and more than a dozen have signed - Thanks! Thought the joke to change her first name from Katherine to Karen was clever... If they offered Joel Embiid for KD to the Suns straight up who says no?... First they came for the peanuts and I say nothing because I was not allergic to peanuts. Then they came for the bananas and I said nothing. Now... Daniel Kahneman pointed out that people are more prone to be influenced by empty persuasive messages when the mind is tired - which made me wonder if this is why those late-night infomercials can be so effective... The Milwaukee Bucks performance in the NBA playoffs reminds me of Doc Rivers awful first pitch at Fenway when he was first named coach of the Celtics. Nobody is blaming Rivers for the Bucks showing (or not showing) on his coaching ability but instead on injuries to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard just like they never blamed his pitching ability on the fact that maybe he's just not very good... Happy anniversary to me? Just realized that I've been on GMail for 20-years now...
