Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Some people are upset with President Trump revoking the Secret Service security detail of former DHS head Alejando Mayorkas. I’m just surprised he had a detail in the first place. Security details when I was growing up seemed to be reserved for former Presidents and VPs only. Now people like Mayorkas and Hunter Biden get them?… Tesla's Model Y has sold out in many states across the US including many so called "swing states." It makes me wonder if the violence against Tesla has backfired against the Democrats and there will be a price to pay at the next election. Is it strange to think people who will spend thousands of dollars on defiant purchases of Tesla cars with their own money won't also exercise their franchise to vote (which is free)... Nike's revenues are falling back to earth in part because of supporting people like Colin Kaepernick while jettisoning people like Tiger Woods ($794 million in profits compared to $1.2 billion last year). Personally I own some Nike stuff but haven't bought any in a while and don't plan to either. Know many that feel the same way... Excellent point by Kash Patel about a third of the FBI's workforce being in DC. There's no need... HUD and DHS have ended taxpayer funded housing for illegal immigrants. While this is something that NEVER should have been funded in the first place - I hope some Democrats sue to get the policy overturned. This would automatically become campaign ads against these folks who want to spend your taxes on illegals… Part of me hopes that the DNC sees the polls and thinks that Kamala Harris / Tim Walz wasn't a bad ticket and that they just ran into a Trump juggernaut and thinks running it back in 2028 is a good idea... The State of Missouri won a $24 billion verdict against China for releasing the Covid-19 virus. They have said they are going to collect if necessary by seizing any Chinese owned assets in the state - including any Chinese owned farmland. Faster please... Trying to decide which insult is better - calling something "the We Work of (fill in the blank)" or dismissing something stupid by saying "that person must be vaccinated"... Interesting - now Perplexity (backed by NVidia) wants to buy TikTok. Not rooting for any particular company but this saga has been interesting... Think an AI deep fake US history class taught by Shelby Foote would be an Internet sensation... Whenever I see that Greenland has made the news I have to remind myself that the country only has a population of 51,000. That’s equal to a small US city. When have you cared about news about how officials of a small US city feel about any issue? That’s not really news…
