Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Pretty hard to read about Hamas firing a missile that kills 11 children on an Israeli soccer field without wishing every member of Hamas dead. Doesn't make me a bad person and I don't apologize for feeling that way... The French Revolution famously ended the French Monarchy and the question has to be asked if the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics is a new French Revolution that effectively ends the modern games?... For those who say that Venezuela's cheating could never happen in the US... Do find it amusing that many supporters of Kamala Harris are being called "cat ladies" in some circles. It also makes me wonder if these same supporters also have Coexist bumper stickers... Today's MLB trade deadline used to be a big deal to me and I would analyze every team if they were a buyer or a seller. Now I don't even pay attention and when a trade does happen my normal reaction is "Who's that guy?"... Those who are surprised that the FBI cooks the arrest stats to make the Biden White House look better are probably also surprised  that Covid actually originated in a Wuhan lab or that the monthly job numbers get "unexpectedly" revised downwards after being announced... For those who say Google would never engage in political bias... The apex of the modern Olympics was probably the 1984 games in LA with every subsequent games seeing viewership and rights frees increase as the success of that games gave promise to subsequent games that never quite reach that same 1984 level. Now with the depravity of the Paris games plus greed of Peacock and the Olympic committee - interest is evaporating. Can you blame people?... Confession: when I heard that Patriots DL Christian Barmore had blood clots my first question was if he got it from the Covid vaccines. I do wish him nothing but the best which is why I didn't mention it earlier. I also hope New England had insurance on that 4-year $83 million extension... I like Elon Musk more and more... Conspiracy theory: Donald Trump picked JD Vance for much the same reason Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris - as insurance against replacement. As much as some in Congress or in the media hate Trump they would probably hate Vance as President more. Granted Vance is much more accomplished than Harris but it is an interesting theory... I'm really not interested in the wealth of a politician but I am interested in knowing what career politicians became millionaires while in office... Reminder Pfizer's response to India was telling...
