Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Rumors of the Boston Celtics offering a trade package to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant with Jalen Brown as the centerpiece bother me. This shouldn't bother me but it does. The Celtics just went to the NBA Finals so why would they mess with the team chemistry? From the Brooklyn side their team chemistry right now is toxic and Jalen Brown did not get along with Kyrie Irving when they were together in Boston - knowing that why would the Nets want to try that combo again? This stinks of the Nets using Jalen Brown to try to up the ante from another team... This is fantastic - nicely done... Movie box office receipts are almost back to pre-pandemic levels which is good news for Hollywood since the two things supposedly recession-proof are movies and the Mafia. And we are in a recession no matter how they try to change the definition of words... I went to a Catholic high school. We weren't taught sex education. If you took biology you'd pick some things up tangentially. However, we were required to take religion every semester and supposedly if you failed religion your Senior year - you couldn't graduate. You could fail math, English, history - anything but religion. I wonder now if that was an empty threat... "The next president can honor the simple notion that nobody is above the law, but that will happen only if voters demand it." - Elizabeth Warren 2016. Wonder if any reporters have asked Senator Warren how her quote applies to Hunter Biden today?... The Saudi's invest a ton of money in the LIV Golf Tour and there's widespread outrage. The Saudi's announce they're investing $1 billion a year  in life-extension medical research and it doesn't even make the news. This is Exhibit A that our society's priorities are weirdly broken. We care so much more about golfers who don't effect us directly and ignore news which could end up extending and improving our lifespan. Strange... Speaking of strange - ever notice how how when using their own money Senators and Congress people can take inside information to personally make millions on stock trades but when these same people take tax payer dollars to invest in companies like Solyndra - those companies almost always fail... I'd find it amusing if some pranksters at Reddit or 4Chan (didn't they get some people to believe in "free bleeding") to convince the gullible and the media that the new politically correct term for women is "female species." My humor is warped but I'd find that hilarious... Recently went up to Maine and at the rest areas there's a sign that says "transporting firewood into Maine is banned." Is this a new law? Are they really trying to prohibit people from Massachusetts or New Hampshire from bringing their own camp firewood when visiting? If this is a law - it's a really stupid law... Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, is up for election to the Football Hall of Fame in 2023. Nobody in football is more deserving...
