And just like that the phrase, "You've been hypnotized" entered the national consciousness as a rejoinder to all the COVID Karen's of the world... Love that Novak Djokovic's new Australian nickname is "Novax" Djokovic. Serbia should seriously consider cutting diplomatic ties with Australia over the way Djokovic is being treated... When I was growing up my hometown newspaper had two editions - the Worcester Telegram came out in the morning and the Worcester Gazette came out in the afternoon. I predict that some enterprising outfit will replicate that model with an on-demand half-hour news show - one that comes out in the morning and one that comes out late afternoon. A half-hour of pure news with no editorials, opinions or slants. Just news that people can watch when they have the time. It would be a great success because that's what people really want... Another great thing about Joe Rogan is that he's "cancel" proof. Remember they tried to cancel him on Spotify because of his views on "trans" in sports but "poof" nothing happened. He's an open and true friend to Dave Chappelle and makes no apologies for it (unlike weasel Patton Oswalt)... The Washington Football Team (WFT) has made it known they will be revealing their new team name shortly. Think I speak for many when I say I hope they choose the Washington Team of Football (WTF). That would be so fitting...  It would have been a genius move by the Norman Mailer estate to try and have him cancelled so people might once again be interested in his books. Seriously when's the last time anyone gave Mailer a second thought? Unfortunately it was just some woke folks with too much time on their hands. It could give ideas to the estates of other writers though. Jack London would have been a good candidate but I believe most of his books are already in the public domain... Trivia that may only interest me: Douglas Adams had an asteroid named after him - Asteroid 2001 DA42. The name combines the year of his death, his initials, and the answer to the Ultimate Question of life, the universe and everything... One of the forgotten repercussions from the events of January 6th last year was it forced Bill Belichick to cancel the event where he would have been presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That event has never been rescheduled... Johannes Factorum (Jack of all trades) would be a good name for a blog... With Ben Roethlisberger potentially playing his last NFL game on Sunday the question has to be asked - is Big Ben a Hall of Fame quarterback? My first instinct is to say "yes" but drilling down on the numbers makes you wonder if he's just Matt Ryan with a better defense and better coaching.
