I am confused by the reported shake-up at NASA. Supposedly over 2,100 employees may be cut lose as part of cost cutting at the agency. Are these employees scientists, part of a bloated management structure? What? How can you describe this as “brain drain” if you don’t even know who might be let go?… WTF???… The US is now said to be producing 200,000 more barrels of oil a day than we were under Biden and we just became the largest supplier of LNG to Germany. Feeling pretty good about my prediction of gas prices under $1.99 a gallon by the time Trump leaves office… Apropos of nothing: for the longest time I thought in the Go-Go's song Our Lips are Sealed they were singing "honored to see you." Also given Belinda Carlyle's drastic weight loss I never made the connection that maybe the girls were so "Go-Go" because of amphetamines... Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has been named the interim NASA Director and some are up in arms over this move. I would simply ask who the last NASA director was and what did they accomplish? If you can’t answer either of those questions then you really shouldn’t have an opinion on NASA… Wait the US hasn’t opened a new rare earth facility in seven decades? That sounds insane… Jeffrey Epstein or Jeffrey Dahmer - who was the bigger monster?… The US inflation rate is now just 1.66%. And prices of daily staples continue to come back down… Will history remember Zohran Mamdani as the new "the rent is too damn high" guy? Actual economist Javier Milei says "That's not how rents or economies work"... Take my money!… For the record I would be fine subcontracting all of NASA’ duties to SpaceX at this point…
