Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Many have been looking for a reaction to the Supreme Court basically cancelling affirmative action as it is used at universities. I haven't reacted because I though the current affirmative action in place at places like Harvard was a clear violation of both the sprit and letter of the law and a violation of simple common sense. Leave it to Harvard to get something so very wrong. Leave it to Clarence Thomas and the Supreme Court to set things right... Curios as to why Ross Dellenger is leaving Sports Illustrated. Understand they they may be scaling everything back but Ross is one of the best covering college football and even if he leaves Sports Illustrated there's no need for him to leave The College Football Enquirer podcast. Interested to see what they next chapter brings. Will have to listen to the latest offering to find out... Twitter remains one of the worst places to search for images of National Bikini Day. Just saying... Franklin Fruit Cake would be a good name for a band or humor blog or Substack (or the real life name of a business in Rhode Island)... In days gone by if you had an upset stomach you were said to have a "sour stomach." Think the language was so much better in the past.... Why is it that people with rainbow flags or Black Live Matter signs in their yards always seem to have small yappy dogs who are always intolerant. Reminds me of how people who put Coexist bumper stickers on their cars always seem to have way too many cats... Speaking of old-time language, originally two pieces of similar rope intertwined together were knowns as being "cunt spliced." That term has been discontinued. No idea why... Happy 57th birthday to Russell Crowe! Had no idea it was his birthday... In Ancient Rome, about 200-300 BCE, if you were a legal voting Roman but did not cast your vote in person in the city - the ruling elites basically cast the remaining outstanding votes how they pleased. Reminds me of how a certain political party today treats mail-in votes... Not for nothing but you couldn't pay me to be on Threads or any Facebook-related product. Bad enough I have an Instagram account... Amused by certain folks decrying "politicized science." Anthony Fauci should be in jail. That's a hill I'll die on...
