Things I've Learned
Try to learn something new ever day. Here are some of the things I've learned and tried to take to heart.
Even if I take just one or a few of these items to heart I would live a better life:
You have to have or adopt the mindset that it is important to learn and know for knowledge’s sake. Not because it may be something you can use but because you’re curious.
Lau Tzu once said. “Simplicity. Patience. Compassion. These are your greatest treasures.” He’s right and this has been known for thousands of years. Make these three treasures habits in your every day life.
Anything that is a tool you can learn to use better and more efficiently whether it be a highlighter or a broom.
Louis L’ Amour, among others, said that their was no limit to what humans could accomplish. This goes along with the advice that there’s nothing you can’t accomplish is you put your head on it.
To be happy and successful you must take action and have fun in what you do.
Try to live an organized life it is especially important to have a productive morning routine.
“I’m an optimist by nature, and humor has been one of my great teachers.” - Matthew McConaughy. try to be like Matthew McConaughy.
It is said you can never make the same mistake twice because the second time you do it - you have not made a mistake but a choice. That choice may be not to learn from the mistake in the first place.
Tim Ferriss says, “You don’t have to be a bull in a china shop, or a cow in the rain; there is a middle path. The middle path is where all the gold is buried.” I was taught you have to move a mountain of dirt to get a nugget of gold but Ferriss’ saying is better. Work smarter - not harder.
“Action is about living fully. Inaction is a way to deny life.” - Don Miguel Ruiz. Take action even if that action is as simple as getting out of bed.
Hope some of these are new to you too or at least you can reflect on why some feel they are important to know and embody.
