Take Action
The habit of taking action is one of the most important habits one can develop in life.
Much of what passes as knowledge is actually ancient wisdom that has been repackaged or put into modern terms or language. I am simply quoting the words I have learned even though they may have come from an earlier source. The most important thing to remember is to take action. You can think about something all day but it doesn’t count until you actually do it. The sooner you get to something - the sooner you get through it!
“Routine will take you further than will power.” - Shane Parrish. Especially developing a consistent morning routine that makes you well rounded and furthers the path to your goals in life.
“It’s easy to get caught in a flood of minutia, and the key is not feeling rushed and remembering lack of time is actually lack of priorities.” - Tim Ferriss. It is not just important to act but it is even more important to know what you should be spending your limited time on.
“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer the negative elements in your life, don’t sit at home and think about it. Go out and get busy!” - Dale Carnegie. There’s a reason Nike’s “Just Do It!” campaign was so successful.
“Most people spend more time and effort going around problems than trying to solve them.” - Henry Ford. Procrastination is a disease.
“Write your obituary and try to figure out how to make it happen.” - Warren Buffett. Great advice. Act like today will be the day you will be remembered for.
“You already know what to fucking do.” - David Goggins. Self explanatory.
“But I say to you that when you work you fulfill the earth’s furthest dream, assigned to you when the dream was born, and in keeping yourself with labor you are in fact loving life.” - Khalil Gibran. You were made to do the job right!
“The professional shuts up. She doesn’t talk about it. She just does her work.” - Steven Pressfield. Be a pro in everything!
“To have the power is not enough; one must also have the will to do.” - Sophocles. The will to act is everything!
“Failure is simply the opportunity to start again, this time more intelligently.” - Henry Ford. It doesn’t matter if you succeed. Success is great but learning from your mistakes can also lead to success.
