Take Action
The habit of taking action is one of the most important habits one can develop in life.
Much of what passes as knowledge is actually ancient wisdom that has been repackaged or put into modern terms or language. I am simply quoting the words I have learned even though they may have come from an earlier source. The most important thing to remember is to take action. You can think about something all day but it doesn’t count until you actually do it. The sooner you get to something - the sooner you get through it!
“Half of what separates successful entrepreneurs from non-successful ones is perseverance.” - Steve Jobs. If you want your dreams to come true - take action.
“You can add days to your life, but you can’t add life to your days.” - Unknown. You can only add life by taking action - even if it is drinking a glass of water when you wake or engaging in meditation.
“Do every act in your life as if it was the last act of your life.” - Marcus Aurelius. It’s important not just to act but to give that action your all. Remember one day that action will be your last.
“Do what you can do for as long as you can, and when you can’t, you can do the next best thing.” - Chuck Yeager. One of Yeager’s best pieces of advice.
“Great success is not built on success. It is built on failure, frustration and sometimes catastrophe.” - Sumner Redstone. You must act and be unafraid to fail in order to succeed.
“A winner is someone who takes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.” - Larry Bird. Work your tail off to develop your talents.
“Motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you growing. That’s the Law of Consistency. It doesn’t matter how talented you are. It doesn’t matter how many opportunities you receive. If you want to grow, consistency is key.” - John C. Maxwell.
“Work is the only good thing.” - John Steinbeck. Work is just a way of saying action focused on a single thing.
“Most of the time you don’t need more information, you need more courage.” - James Clear. The courage to take action.
“Doing something everyday turns desired behavior into default behavior. When willpower is lacking, routine takes over.” - Shane Parrish. Make taking action a habit!
