Don't follow golf closely but I can't help but think of this new PGA vs LIV rivalry as sort of like Netflix vs Amazon Prime. Do you think Netflix would ever let Jim Gaffigan have a special on Netflix after all his earlier and current stuff is on Prime? Meanwhile Dave Chappelle is the Tiger Woods while the Saudis are Jeff Bezos in this analogy. Somehow it makes sense in my head... Inflation in May was 8.6%. That's the equivalent of having a whole month's worth of yearly salary wiped out - pre-tax! Think about that... Colin Kaepernick hasn't played in the NFL since the 2016 season. That season the 49ers were 1-10 in games Kaepernick started. 1-10. The Raiders giving him a tryout is a PR stunt and nothing more... Interesting thought experiment - ask yourself how the country would have been different if the Democrats had chose Marianne Williamson instead of Joe Biden in the last election. Kind of a fun exercise. Things couldn't have been worse under Williamson than under Biden. Maybe not even more goofy under Williamson... The Gnomon (One Who Knows or Examines) would be a good name for a blog or a Substack account... Also amused that the PGA complains that players only joined the LIV because of financially based reasons. Isn't that what "professionals" do? Make decisions on financially based reasons?... Protestors at the Qatar 2022 World Cup could face up to five years in prison for "stirring up public opinion." That's another way of saying the authorities in Qatar can arrest anyone they please. Who in their right mind would attend this World Cup in person?... 15-years ago last Friday night I was pissed off thinking my cable went out at the worst possible time while watching the finale of my favorite show at the time. Still rather upset about it... The Boston Celtics have not lost 2 games in a row all playoffs. The optimist in me says that means they win this series against Golden State in 7 games.
