Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Pete Hesgeth was confirmed by a 51-50 vote in the Senate with VP JD Vance casting the deciding vote. Vance joked “I thought I was done voting in the Senate”… If Joe Biden is ever prosecuted for his crimes - he'll be able to point to him claiming that he made the ERA an Amendment to the Constitution by Twitter proclamation as proof he has had dementia for a long time as his defense... President Trump ties federal aid to California wildfire victims to voter ID law changes and water policy changes. That seems common sense. If most states are adopting a student not schools policy - why not also provide federal aid directly to homeowners who lost or had their homes damaged by fire? Tie that to them needing homeowners insurance to qualify. That aid could be used as a down-payment for a house in a state that hasn’t seen insurance companies flee from political incompetence… Seems so strange that so many thought Elon Musk buying Twitter (now X) was a bad idea when he first proposed it. How many are saying now that he single handedly saved free speech... Be interesting to do a Venn diagram of those people who decried Trump releasing the people charged with violent crimes on Jan 6th vs those who supported the illegal immigrants who ICE arrested who were known violent criminals. Think there'd be a lot of overlap there... Would also be interesting to do a Venn diagram of people who propose “healthcare for all” laws that would see people get “free” government healthcare vs those who supported laws that made insurance companies cancel policies in that state because of government incompetence. A lot of overlap there too… Had to give up on Duck Duck Go as a browser and back to Chrome for now. Probably will install Brave over the weekend and try that out but am open to suggestions... NASA and other government agencies are ending all DEI programs and requirements and any attempts to rename DEI to keep it alive will meet swift repercussions. This is the way... John Radcliffe has been sworn in as Director of the CIA. My hope is that Mr. Radcliffe, and all department heads, get back to solely working on the issues the department was created to try and deal with in the first place. And any employee who thinks their personal politics is more important than the department issues is fired... Everything old is new again: the Las Vegas Raiders hired Pete Carroll to be their head coach. Wonder if Tom Brady interviewed Carroll and the subject of Super Bowl performance came up? Supposedly Carroll is jacked and pumped about the new job…
