Saturday Flotsam and Jetsam
Tom Landry started wearing a fedora when he was an assistant in NY to protect his bald head form the cold of the northeast. By the time he took over in Dallas it had become his trademark... Keep forgetting the former NFL QB Jake Plummer is now a mushroom farmer in Colorado. He always marched to the beat of a different drummer... Heh Heh... Scott Adams says there are six elements of humor; naughty, clever, cute, bizarre, mean and recognizable. All works of humor should clearly exhibit at least two of these elements. I'll try to keep that in mind when posting theses columns... Interesting thought experiment: is man a slave to gravity and the other laws of physics because unlike the other animals humans are aware the laws exist? Not sure where I come down on this... I too would pay to see this movie... Some lessons from history just stay with you like Genghis Khan showing his sons how easy it was to bend and break a single arrow but how impossible it was to bend and break a group of arrows stuck together. The lesson for his sons to stay together and be unbeatable has always stuck with me as solid advice... Sad but I think most members of "the resistance" see themselves as being like the lonely Tank Man in China when in reality they are easily replaced cogs in the machine completely out of their control. Just ask Cindy Sheehan... Heh Heh... Thinks that blow your mind when you first learn them - Otis Redding was just 26 when he tragically died... Two of my favorite facts about Al Gore: he was born exactly 9 months after aliens were reported founded at Roswell and when he was born there were 7,000 polar bears. Now there's over 26,000... Reminder that I like to bet on football but my results are so unpredictable that I never share my picks anymore...
