Amused that Bud Light hired comedian Shane Gillis as a celebrity spokesman in an effort to undo the massive harm caused to the brand by them hiring transgendered Dylan Mulvaney in the first place. Amused because Gillis was fired from SNL for making fun of people like Mulvaney before he ever even started that gig. Also amused because Gillis drinks Bud Light anyway so this is like money for nothing for him and he's probably being paid a hell of a lot more than Mulvaney got... Fenway Sports Group are hiring former Red Sox GM Theo Epstein in one of their biggest free agent signings in years. Epstein had hired current Red Sox GM Craig Breslow while he was with the Cubs... There's a rumor going around that the Biden Administration is going to force out Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine in the next couple weeks. Will have to keep an eye on this... Reminder... Have to admit that Daniel Radcliff's greatest acting accomplishment was convincing people he could speak Parseltongue in the Harry Potter movies... Amused because Shane Gillis could just string together clips of him pounding Bud Lights on the Joe Rogan Experience and say his work is done here. Also funny because Gillis' main audience is exactly the frat-boy type the ex Bud Light Marketing Director said she was trying to move beyond. Now they want them back... The Red Sox had become such a joke that they were selling tickets at Costco... Facebook/Meta announce the company turned a big profit last quarter and also announced they were paying a stock dividend. Now reportedly Mark Zuckerberg is set to receive a $700 million payday... People who doubt Bill Belichick's ability to do game play-by-play obviously forget the great job he did in co-hosting the NFL Network's Top 100 All-Time Players series. He was beyond very good. Nobody knows football like him... Sympathetic Prudence would be a good name for a blog... As an aside Neil Young never paid a price for being so wrong about Covid or Joe Rogan. Except by people like me who now refuse to listen to anything sung by the drug-addled Canadian... It has also been reported that Facebook/Meta is laying off thousands to save $1.4 billion a year so it can do a $50 billion *and pay Mark Zuckerberg $700 million a year)... Wonder if you did a study of the firms that were sponsors of the Chinese Olympics games and looked at how many of those has also implemented DEI policies - how high the percentage that did both would be... When thinking of his situation, I'm reminded of this quote from Bill Belichick, "If you sit back and spend too much time feeling good about what you did in the past, you're going to come up short the next time"... RIP Carl Weathers. Another piece of my childhood gone...
