Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
The Trump verdict may be overturned and the whole thing ruled a mistrial because a cousin of a juror posted on Facebook that Trump would be found guilty a day before that jury went into deliberation. Judge Juan Merchant alerted both sides of the case of the post’s existence as soon as the court learned. This would seem to be a clear way for the judge to overturn the verdict without finding Trump innocent. The damage is done (on both sides). I’d be surprised if the judge doesn’t take this course of action… Celtics honored the passing of Bill Walton at Thursday night's game with tie-dyed Walton pins handed out to all, having his wife and four sons as guests to the game, and with a moment of silence. All members of the team also wore a black shoulder band with the word Walton on it. I expect they may do so the rest of the Finals.... Donald Trump and RFK Jr. should both commit that neither would wear earpieces or diapers during their Town Hall debates. Think everyone would know who those conditions were aimed at... Excellent point... Not sure if 'gaydar" is real because I know I have trouble identifying if someone is gay. But I do think the opposite is true - that a gay person can spot a straight person. There's been a number of times me and friends were about to try a new bar in a strange city only to have a person leaving the bar stop us to say "that's probably not the bar for you - that's a gay bar"... Martin Freeman reading Joe Mines moving D-Day words... Free business idea: start a company that rents port-o-lets have the Biden/Harris name on them. People would love doing their business in a Biden/Harris unit and I'd find the whole thing humorous... Vin Scully's moving D-Day address... Dr. Jack Ramsay got his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963. His dissertation was on the role of athletics in college liberal arts schools. It would be interesting to read that today with the new world of NIL and Power Conferences in mind… Did not know this: if you have a VPN you can reportedly switch your address to Cambodia to get rid of YouTube commercials... The movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan came out 42-years ago. I haven’t seen that movie in quite some time but now that it’s been pointed out that Kirk and Khan never actually physically share a scene because of scheduling issues - I may have to watch it again out of curiosity. This movie was basically the backdrop to JJ Abrams reboot of the franchise with different actors…
