You know that an election is coming up when Democrats start abandoning what they really believe in order to pander to the voters with what actually works. Watch for abandoning open borders with building a wall along our border with Mexico instead, ending all types of censorship, and even support of Julian Assange. Once you see the pandering - you can't unsee it. When they tell you who they are in the first place by their actions - believe them!... Florida State is looking to exit both the ACC and the grant of rights contract which ties up their TV sports rights until 2036 with ESPN. Couple that with the Seminoles getting snubbed in this year's college football playoff and you have a pissed off FSU who wants to sue for the legal right to exit the grant of rights with ESPN and allow them to leave the ACC for greener pastures... A little Christmas humor… Doing simple math but if Starlink says they have 2.3 million customers that means that SpaceX should have more than $230 million in monthly revenue. That's not too shabby... The caffeine spectrum - news you can use!... Problem I see in FSU's situation is that they were party to the ACC's extension of the grant of rights with ESPN in 2016. They must have felt it was a pretty good deal and as far as I know have never turned down that ESPN money over the years. But now they want to break that contract. They may find out the hard way that the court system views contract law more highly than butthurt feelings about a football program. Their lone hope may be if ESPN wants to redo that deal but I don't see their lawyers allowing that especially now with Disney hemorrhaging money... I predicted this very meme a long time ago… Have long said that we are witnessing the birth of a new media and the death of the old with X and Tucker Carlson leading the way. X has way more viewers than the NYT and Tucker's episodes dwarf anything on cable TV (and he hasn't even started his podcast yet). Another bit of evidence is that of the top 50 Spotify news podcasts roughly half are independent media - and this doesn't even count the Joe Rogan Experience that's way bigger that all of them... Remember when all the "comedians" tried to "organically" try to make Trumpo happen? That may have been the beginning of the end of corporate media... One parallel to the Seminoles looking to secede from the ACC is the situation of the State of Florida looking to secede from the Union helping to cause the Civil War. Florida found out the hard way that they didn't have a legal right there either...
