Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Still think the "rift" between Donald Trump and Elon Musk was a planned "good cop / bad cop" routine that got slightly out of hand. However, think any reported "spat" between Tulsi Gabbard and the President is just the corporate media trying to drive a wedge between the successful Trump Administration officials. Don't fall for it... The New York Yankees are traditionally Boston’s biggest rival and if you asked the Yankees for one wish before the season they might have said to have the Red Sox trade Rafael Devers not just out of the AL East but out of the America League completely. The Red Sox basically granted their wish… The last WW I US vet has passed. RIP... The Democrats may have been right in that Donald Trump posed an existential threat to them if re-elected in that he would cancel USAID and cut off their money. No wonder they were willing to do anything to try and stop him (except of course run a competent candidate)... Some people give themselves a nickname they hope will stick (knew a guy who did this). Think I may try to give myself the nickname "the voluptuous" - Chris the Voluptuous. Has a nice ring to it... Things they should teach in schools... Hate to say it but perhaps the worst thing that could happen to Barack Obama would be for Michele Obama to throw her hat into the ring to be president in 2028. The other Democratic candidates would tear her apart in commercials and debates. I should start a petition to draft her to be a candidate... There are reports that if Zohran Mamdami wins the NYC mayor election that many millionaires are set to move out of the city. I have to wonder if officials of other states are actively rooting for Mamdani and preparing welcome wagons... History of how slot machines became so ubiquitous... They say if you just give maximum effort and care about winning that Boston fans will root for a player to succeed. Same is true of owners but John Henry doesn’t seem to care about the Red Sox or winning. Boston has become just another asset in the Fenway Sports Group’s portfolio. Boston fans don’t trust him or like him at this point. That in a nutshell is why fans are siding with Rafael Devers… Interesting: the Los Angeles Dodgers said they kicked ICE off their grounds to prevent them from arresting illegal immigrants but ICE says they were never at those grounds to begin with. Would this then become a good place for an ICE raid now? It would be funny to have them arrest people but just discharge them on Governor Newsom's property...
