Always knew ESPN was a cash cow for Disney but had no idea of the scope. The network brought in $16 billion in revenue in 2022 and $2.9 billion in profit. ESPN makes less than half of the revenue of the rest of Disney’s entertainment division but brings in more profit. However, between what I see as a misstep on a branded ESPN betting site and a reduction of fees paid by affiliates - this will not last... The kidnapping of Israeli kids by Hamas is disgusting but just as disgusting is privileged college students and professors tearing down posters of their captivity. It's like cheese in a mouse trap for some of these rats... Feeling pretty bad about my preseason bet for New England to make the playoffs. The Pats season win total is down to 4.5 (from the original 7.5) and people are jumping on the under... The size of Gaza is less than 10% the size of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan yet if they lobbed 150,000 missiles into Wisconsin - no state in the union would blame Wisconsin for seizing and keeping the entire UP in retribution. Israel has a blank check to do whatever they want as far as I'm concerned... Is it any surprise that more than half of the Republicans who oppose Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House took campaign donations from Sam Bankman-Freed or FTX? Color me unsurprised. The bigger news would be to find an honest politicians at this point... Think a common sense solution to Net Neutrality in the US would be for Congress to set basic rules that say a provider will not share user information or throttle any website in areas where the consumer does not have a choice of broadband service. However, in areas with more than one choice - Net Neutrality would not apply and the consumer would be free to make a choice based upon price, privacy, or any other reason... Elon Musk has removed the New York Times verified badge on Twitter because of how they outright spread misinformation. Which is a good time to remind people the NYT spread the rumor that Russia was offering bounties in Syria for US military members but they never once provided proof of their claims. And they never once apologized. They are liars not journalists... Think Joe Biden was sick of hearing people chant "FJB! FJB!" and figured being called testicle face was better... Think the player who comes in last in our fantasy football league should be forced to publicly search "big beefy prostates" in multiple porn sites... Thoughts that keep you up at night; would a Baby on Board sign allow a driver access to the HOV lane? Asking for a friend... Seriously think that if a random politician sent out fund raising emails featuring pornographic images - they’d get a much higher response rate than the normal fund raising emails. Think that would allow no-name candidates to spring major surprises. Seriously...
