I admit that I did not watch any of the RNC Convention live. I did follow via the various sources I already use to highlight the good parts. Don't plan t watch the DNC Convention either but wouldn't be surprised it it garnered higher ratings. People just can't help but stopping to look at a train wreck... Philosophy of Life would be a good name for a blog or a Substack account… Have a system for betting on the ponies; have fun, drink a lot of beer, and hope for the best. Not always a winning strategy but I have a good time… A Federal Appeals Court blocked the Biden Administration from all of its planned student loan forgiveness. Trying to buy votes or rule by Presidential fiat seems to be over... This was clever… Learn something new every day: the term “Stoics” comes from the word “stoa” meaning “porch” from the philosopher Zeno’s porch where he used to give lectures and discussions from his porch in Athens… Truly random thought - more and more I find myself on team Winkler over team Hanks in the feud between Henry Winkler and Tom Hanks... Democratic strategists are down to suggesting Joe Biden bang a porn star, then survive an attempt on his life, and then hope for the best. Knowing Biden he’d survive being attacked by a porn star after he tries to rape her and still think he was following orders… Would TiVet (a play on the name Tibet) be a good name for a pet hospital? Maybe for Buddhists?…. The Stoics believed that we should concentrate only on things we can control not on things that are out of our control. What pony wins a race and what order the horses pass finish line is out of my control. So today I’m a Stoic…
