Presidential Void
What's the reason that Joe Biden hasn't stepped down from the office and made Kamala Harris President yet?
Questions have to be asked to be asked: if Joe Biden isn’t in shape to run for office how could he be in the shape needed to handle the most powerful job in the world? Why hasn’t he stepped down and made Kamala Harris the acting President? And why hasn’t Harris picked a running mate VP yet? Think these questions are related and I’ve given much thought to possible answers.
Negotiations for Hunter’s pardon: It’s been reported that Biden was set on running again but Democratic Party leaders told him that if he doesn’t step aside that they was prepared to invoke the 25th Amendment and have him step down involuntarily. Biden did step aside but may not step down from the Presidency until a full pardon of Hunter Biden, who is awaiting sentencing, is secured.
Control of the media: Part of deal not to invoke 25th Amendment was getting media to support whatever was picked was part of deal. This would explain why media is so complacent in supporting Harris and pretending her past record or that of Joe Biden does not seem to exist - whether it be the economy, the border or foreign affairs.
Fear of Mike Lee - Republican Speaker of the House: Joe Biden is clearly incapacitated and unable to function properly. The 25th amendment should be used -but then Mike Lee not only becomes the VP the Senate no longer has a Democratic majority as the VP become the tie-breaking vote. Kamala played a vital role in the Senate in the past. That power in the Senate could be all gone.
Harris speaking unscripted: If Kamala was named President she’d have to give live speeches and answer live questions. Worse she’d have to have to give responses to Donald Trump in person at debates and other events. People are deadly afraid of that which in large part explains why she ran the risk of offending the Black Journalists by refusing their invitation to be on a panel with Trump at their convention. The press will play this refusal down but people are noticing. The difference in ability is striking. When he was President Trump used to answer mostly hostile questions almost every day. Kamala Harris has yet to answer one unscripted question since she was named the DNC nominee.
Harris hasn’t picked a VP yet: Harris hasn’t made her choice known yet and maybe wants to make sure that choice gives her best choice to win the election. But that also creates another problem. If Kamala chooses someone too popular or too competent - she may find herself a target. She knows full well that many considered her perhaps the greatest insurance policy in history since no matter how bad Joe Biden seemed - nobody wanted the alternative as President. Then Joe had his disastrous debate performance and now his airport fiasco video and there’s no denying any doubt he’s non compos mentis.
All of the above may be true or possibly a combination.
No matter the reason the void at the top is weakening the nation. A strong President could send the right message to Venezuela and help end the situation with Hamas and Gaza but right now we have - maybe mush is the right word. Not sure what the right word may be but it is not good and cannot stay this way for too long.
