Any truth to the rumor that Roger Goodell is considering changing the name from the NFL to the MFL (for Meta Football League)? I wouldn't put it past him... Ancient wisdom suggests that ego and stupidity have exact correlation. The more ego a person has the more idiotic they end up being (because their ego won't allow themselves to realize they are being idiots). Mark Zuckerberg is Exhibit A for this idea... Think one of the points where society started to go off the rails is when Twitter started suspending accounts for telling journalists to "learn to code." There should have been much more pushback on that for many reasons... Going to start a rumor that University of Phoenix is looking into hiring Jon Gruden as their head football coach... In 2011 both Apple and Google spent more on lawsuits and payments involving patents than they did on R&D for new products. No coincidence that was about the same time China was becoming a technology leader in their own right. Just stealing intellectual property and not bothering with patent rights or payments has been China's secret sauce... Who else really wants to see Elon Musk found the Texas Institute for Technology and Science? The enrollment there would be through the roof. That place would be the tits... Have to admit that every time I see Mark Zuckerberg now in my head I hear the voice of Ren (from Ren and Stimpy) saying "You eeediot". Which, itself, was a caricature of Peter Lorre saying the same.. In 30-years can you imagine how difficult it will be to describe Hugh Hefner and explain to younger generations why he was famous and envied... The joke is University of Phoenix is an online school with no football team or athletics. But if you started the rumor I'm sure some media outlet would bite... It would be hilarious if athletes starting to say "Let's go Brandon!" at the end of on-field interviews the way they used to say "Hi mom!" back in the day... Still say some NFL team should give a roster spot to 7'6" Taco Fall as a field goal block specialist. He'd deflect a few and also cause kickers to think about him and get into their heads causing more misses... Any truth to the rumor that Anthony Fauci was the one holding the gun to the head of the dog on that famous National Lampoon cover?... No offense to our neighbors to the north but do you realize that the migration out of Iraq in 2021 was 0.359 persons per 1,000 while it was 6.281 per 1,000 for Canada? Put another way - people were 17 times more interested in getting out of Canada than out of Iraq. Maybe it's the weather?... The New England sports scene is saddened today by the passing of longtime Red Sox player and announcer Jerry Remy after a long battle with cancer. He was only 68 years old.
