I think the Libertarian Party would be much more successful if they simply renamed themselves the Middle Ground Party. Think there's many people in this country who would vote for a Middle Ground Party... The Biden Administration has redefined words and phrases to meet their worldview (such as the definitions of the words "recession" or "woman"). The Border Patrol's motto was "Honor First" but think that too has been redefined under Joe Biden (or maybe now it's meant ironically)... During the Civil War - Abraham Lincoln used to make it a point to take a few hours a day for personal amusement usually in the form of taking in a play. He justified the diversions by saying, "With all the fearful strain that is on me day and night, if I did not laugh, I should die." Then, of course, he died because he was attending a play... Liz Cheney's a pimp. She never could have outfought Donald Trump. But I didn't know until this day, that it was Dick Cheney all along... Over the weekend I saw Shipyard Pumpkinhead beer stocked at a liquor store. To me pumpkin beer is a signal of the end of summer. Too soon to be seeing pumpkin beer. August is just starting... The book I'd like to read is a fictional autobiography of Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch. First person style just like the book Grendel by John Gardiner... I was born in 1966 and I must say the movies that came out that year weren't exactly classics. Think I’ve seen six movies from the list - none of them overly memorable with no desire on my end to re-watch any of them... Dennis Eckersley announced he will be stepping away from the Red Sox broadcast booth at the end of this season. Eck was the best color announcer in the game. This is a big loss for Red Sox fans everywhere but completely understandable for Eck to want to spend more time with his grandchildren in California. Meanwhile this season keeps getting worse and worse for Boston fans... Heh - Heh - Always give 100% at work... On the other hand - the Boston Bruins today announced the resigning of both Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Good day to be a Bruins fan... Looking up movies from one's birth year is a fun exercise. In my case it's 1946; a lot of potboilers but a few memorable entries, including:
My Darling Clementine
The Blue Dahlia
Stairway to Heaven (A Case of Life and Death)
Notorious
The Best Years of Our Lives
The Big Sleep
. . . and for the win, the all-time Christmas classic:
It's a Wonderful Life
