Congrats to Xander Schauffele for winning the PGA Championship with a clutch put on 18 on the final round. Very dramatic way to win your first major championship title… They say one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Unless that man is looking to sell that junk then it becomes “vintage”… The Sacramento Kings are like that one friend who can never seem to find the right spouse. They started off as the Rochester Royals, then became the Kansas City Kings, and now are said to be considering a new city… Congratulations also to the Minnesota Timberwolves who stormed back to beat the Denver Nuggets 98-90 in game 7. They will now face the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals… Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury Saturday night on a split decision to become the heavyweight boxing champ. My how boxing has fallen off the overall cultural radar when a new heavyweight champion can win a fight and not many notice... In baseball that friend could be said to be the Atlanta Braves who started out as the Boston Braves, then move to Milwaukee, then to Atlanta only to change ballparks… Watching the Preakness on Saturday made me realize I miss Bob Neumeier around horse racing. Miss you Neumy… In the NFL the Oakland Raiders (now Las Vegas) may be that friend. Though the LA Rams (LA, then St. Louis, then back to LA) has to be considered… If you want this marriage metaphor to work I think you really need to look at the NHL where it seems outside the Original Six every franchise seems to have about a 50% chance of relocation (remember the Quebec Nordiques, the Hartford Whalers, or the California Golden Seals?)… So most of yesterday I was convinced it was Father’s Day and was slightly bothered how nobody else seemed to be acknowledging the day. Mea culpa!…

I noticed, but I'm a few days behind on my reading due to being out of town for a wedding over the weekend. I hate Hallmark holidays!
