Live in the Present
The habit of living in the present is one of the most important habits one can develop in life.
Much of what passes as knowledge is actually ancient wisdom that has been repackaged or put into modern terms or language. I am simply quoting the words I have learned even though they may have come from an earlier source. The most important thing to remember is to live in the present. Never waste any moment because you’ll never get that moment again and you cannot find true happiness without trying to be present at all times.
“Think of each single day as its own life.” - Seneca. It’s true! Every day is unique onto itself!
“This day will never come again and anyone who fails to eat and drink and taste and smell it will never have it offered to him again for all eternity. The sun will never shine as it does today.” - Herman Hesse. Live in the present. Great quote to help one to remember to do this.
“Accept what life has to offer you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should be sipped, but others drink the whole bottle.” - Paulo Coelho. Every experience, every moment offers something unique - treat it accordingly!
“When you arise in the morning think about what a privilege it is to be alive, to think, to enjoy, to love.” - Marcus Aurelius. Every day truly is a gift and a privilege. Treat it accordingly!
“Finish every day and be done with it.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson. Live in the present!
“It always comes down to two choices, get busy living or get busy dying.” - Stephen King. A line from Shawshank that truly resonates.
“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” - Nicholas Chamfort. Enjoy the present day for tomorrow is guaranteed to nobody.
“The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately.” - Seneca. Live for today for no other reason that tomorrow is promised to no one.
“Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.” - Buddha. So don’t waste your life on the non-important.
“If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place.” - Lao Tzu. The most important thing is to live in the present. Disregard the past as much as possible and don’t dwell on the future. Your life will immediately be better.
