Labor Day Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations on this Labor Day.
Kamala Harris made a big mistake for going after Donald Trump attending Arlington at the invitation of the Gold Star families who lost a child on the withdrawal from Afghanistan. She was invited too but never responded to them. No quicker way to lose the military than to go after Gold Star families (especially when you brag about being the last person in the room for the discussion to abandon Afghanistan)… The new rumor is that Nicole Shanahan, RFK Jr.'s choice for VP candidate, may run for Governor of California in 2026. She has raised her profile to the point where I like this idea but now I can't help but wonder - what party would she run for office as?... Love this idea... Speaking of California - Republicans there proposed Donald Trump's idea of no taxes on tips only to be blocked by Democratic legislators there. That would put Kamala Harris in an interesting position if only some journalist would ask her about it... Get your popcorn ready... Think I've done a 180% change of mind on capping jury awards. Used to think it was a good idea but all capping awards seems to do is to anchor the size of egregious violators have to pay while making the amount given to smaller violators larger. This is gong on at the same time salaries are getting astronomical. A form of judicial price control... I've become more and more a fan of Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl. Unapologetically Jewish. War Eagle (and I have no connection at all to Auburn)... Joe Biden didn’t just happen over night. His corruption, dementia, and meanness were always there or grown slowly but tolerated by those who found him “useful.” Like an overweight person - it wasn’t just one meal that made him fat. People saw the gluttony and bad habits but remained silent… Honest question: did CNN have higher ratings when they concentrated on crashed or lost airline flights or now that they’ve gone all in on any pretense of being unbiased or willing to adhere to government censorship?… Last night saw a thrilling USC last seconds 27-20 win over LSU in Las Vegas. Both teams and both QB’s deserved to win that game… Hope you all enjoy your Labor Day holiday and enjoyed your summer…

Kamala is marginally smart enough to get away with an occasional, not frequent, lie, but she is nowhere nearly smart enough to pick a fight with those of decent intelligence. And if those folks have a dog in the fight, well, she's just toast before she begins.
