Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Supposedly the United States population grew only 0.1% in 2021 which would be the slowest rate of growth since the founding of the nation. Have to assume this growth rate does not include the millions that have entered the country illegally on the southern border... Robert Zemeckis's live action Pinocchio movie is bombing. Wonder if it's too late to take a page from the Blake Edwards underrated SOB to recut the movie and make it X-rated? That would certainly boost the box-office... I got XCIX problems but the LIV ain't one (little Roman numeral humor)... In American colonial days deer hides were such a familiar item of frontier trade that the Spanish dollar became to called a "buck." We still use the term a buck to mean a dollar to this day... If I were in charge of the military for a day - I'd sign an order to make the A-10 Warthog into a drone gunship. Nothing better for close air support but even with all the extra armor the Warthog may be getting too dangerous for live pilots... The things you learn on the Internets - in 1978, a student working a minimum wage job could pay for four years of college with no debt. We really took a wrong turn on the costs of a college education with no discernable increase in the quality of that education... The Order of the Illuminati was a real group founded in the late 18th century and was originally called the League of the Perfectables. Their goal was the victory of virtue and wisdom over stupidity and malice. Is it any wonder that many believe the WEF (World Economic Forum) is just the Illuminati under another name? They certainly believe they're still the smartest and most virtuous... Still find it strange to click on a link to one of Trump's old tweets just to see the message that says "This Tweet is from a suspended account." Maybe someone should appoint a Special Master to look at suspended or deleted social media accounts as well... Familiar with American legends and myths such as Paul Bunyan but I had never heard of Mike Fink king of the keelboaters before... When someone who has lived through WWII says something is like the Nazis you should listen to them. When someone under 25-years old says something is like the Nazis you should mark that person as a moron and avoid all contact if possible... Distributed Cognition would be a good name for a blog or Substack account about various subjects. Maybe even a better name for my Flotsam and Jetsam posts...
