So the state of Maine is ordered by the State Supreme Court to put Donald Trump back on the election ballot. It's like giving free advertising to Trump who will now win in a landslide. Such morons... Interesting - it has been reported that Ohio State is set to name Billy O’Brien as their new Offensive Coordinator. This would be a huge move by the Buckeyes who have lost three straight to rival Michigan and also means that New England is now without an OC... The state of the Canadian medical profession, as evidenced by the Jordan Peterson case, is sad indeed. How many Canadians will forgo seeking treatment because they don't trust the profession anymore? The idea of "first do no harm" has gone by the boards completely there... Verizon will reportedly take a $5.8 billion write-down on its wireline business in Q4 2023. It is widely known but not widely reported that this is the sole division that is still associated with union labor and they have also stopped installing any new DSL products or lines... In pro sports you find most agreements between the leagues and player associations have starting to take away any testing or punishments for marijuana use now that pot is legal in many states. So too is legalized gambling but most agreements still prohibit player gambling even though the players' paychecks are in large part paid for by it. This is a problem that needs to be worked out but I don't have any answers. Yet!... This would be a winner for someone in Congress to offer a bill claiming "political refugee" status to anyone in Canada who feels politically disenfranchised by the new regime. Perhaps a trade? We get their conservatives and they get our lefties who are always threatening to move to Canada anyway. Fair enough... Took a journalism class in college and had to write an obituary of a then living person. I ended up "killing" Mister Rodgers by giving him AIDS. Found it funny at the time feel bad about it now... If I were President I would also look into kicking Canada out of NATO if they don't meet their 2% of GDP pledge. Who needs a freeloader who is constantly criticizing us at the same time?... I have Amazon Prime (I got it for the free Amazon shipping) but have yet to see any of the Bally sports team games appear on the network. If the deal does go through I have to wonder if Amazon Prime will also be starting a sports news and highlights channel? It would seem a natural move if they're carrying MLB, NBA, and NHL games as well as their Thursday Night NFL slate. It's a strange situation... Both the Colts owner Jim Irsay and Knicks owners James Dolan are in the news for bad reasons - Irsay because of a suspected drug overdose and Dolan because of severe sexual allegations. Both owners are widely considered to be jokes upon their respective sports but I do have some sympathy for Irsay. For Dolan - not so much...  Naval Ravikant suggest someone doing a LLM of all the medical papers on Sci-Hub to become the world's best doctor. Surprised someone hasn't done this already but then I remember most doctors are quacks and most paper's results can't be reproduced...
