Signalgate reminds me of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy where the source was supposedly giving just enough gold dust among the chicken feed to draw in the Americans. So too Jeffrey Goldberg and The Atlantic on this story also meant to draw in the American (clicks). There was a Signal conversation but there was never any war plans. They just wanted the clicks and PR... The State of Missouri won a $24 billion judgement against China for damages caused by Covid in the state. Could they seize TikTok to recover those funds? At least one citizen in Missouri must use the platform. That would be funny... ESPN is shuttering its LA SportsCenter location and moving the show back to Bristol. Right up there with having anchors wear leather jackets and casual clothes trying the show on ESPN 2 and then changing their minds... Donald Trump signed an Executive Order to beautify Washington DC. The Capitol should be one of the top tourist destinations in America if not the word. But people will not come if they don’t feel the place is safe or clean. Make DC great again… Sure I was blinded by the Signalgate lie but there was a Signal chat and obviously the military and CIA system needs to be upgraded and secured. If people like The Atlantic have access what’s to stop an enemy like China having access too?... Learn something new every day (in this case two): the Paul Skenes rookie card that sold for $1.1 million was bought by Dicks Sporting Goods and that Dick's is actually based in Western Pennsylvania... It's long been known that militaries often use extortion and bribes as effective weapons. What's to say our modern military is immune to such temptations... Would be funny if rumors were started that Elizabeth Warren was a CIA plant or that Bernie Sanders was a Russian one. This could be a cross between the whole cloth lies Adam Schiff was telling about Donald Trump and the “free bleeding” prank started by 4Chan… Have not watched the Bret Baier interview of Elon Musk and the DOGE team on Fox News yet but I’m impressed someone got the DOGE team to wear suits and ties. You know this isn’t their usual attire. It’s like seeing John Fetterman in a suit… One of the quotes from the movie has George Smiley saying, “We’re not so different, you and I. We’ve both spent our lives searching for the weakness in one anther’s systems. Don’t you think it’s time to recognize there’s as little worth on your side as there is on mine?” Sometimes that quote sums up how I feel about politics in general…
