Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
The Russian naval cruiser, Moskva, which was reportedly sunk by Ukrainian missiles is the same warship the Ukrainian soldiers famously told to "go f*ck yourself" before the ship bombarded Snake Island. Karma is a bitch... If Elon Musk is successful in buying Twitter I'd love to see him set up a two-person panel to handle banning and censorship issues. The two persons I'd recommend are Libertarian Glenn Reynolds and former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. Both are strong advocates for free speech. If they both agree then the matter at hand is settled. If they disagree then the tie goes to not banning or censoring. Elon would have to pay them both handsomely to deal with the crap that is Twitter... During the last two years of the Trump Administration there seemed to be a large number of human and sex trafficking rings that were being busted and making the news. Many of these sex trafficking rings involved children. You don't hear about any such rings being broken up these days but you do seem to hear many stories of people on the Left demanding to talk to children about sex. My gut says these things may be connected... You learn something new every day: a group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope... Interesting side note to Elon Musk potentially buying Twitter is that when Elon was heroically providing Starlink satellite broadband service to Ukraine he was also being pressured to censor any pro Russia news sources on the platform. Musk simply said no - that he believed in free speech and "poof" his critics trying to force him to censor simply disappeared into the woodwork. Other CEO's and leaders should take his example and be just as unequivocal when it comes to free speech... If I were President for a day I'd secure our Southern Border and double the size of ICE. As a sop to the Leftists who would protest these changes I'd allow for "captured" illegal aliens to be set free if a US family was willing to take them in. That US family would have two conditions placed on them; first they would be financially and legally responsible for all the past income taxes the illegal alien should have been paying and they would also be responsible in civil court for any crimes the sponsored illegal may commit (including the costs of prosecution). Would be interesting to see how many loudmouth bleeding-hearts step up to the plate with those conditions attached... People upset with the idea of billionaire Elon Musk buying Twitter don't seem to mind billionaire Jeff Bezos owning the Washington Post or billionaire John Henry (owner of the Red Sox) owning the Boston Globe.
