Historically Eugene Debs or Bernie Sanders are the most important Socialists in US history. Debs was jailed during World War I for protesting against both the draft and America's entry into the war. He was jailed under the Espionage Act which is why it's so strange to see Socialists today cheering the use of the Act against Donald Trump. They must be ignorant of the history (which makes sense because if they weren't ignorant of history they wouldn't be Socialists)... This always makes me tear up. No matter how many times I've seen it... Kind of amazing that Clemson's season last year was considered awful but they were actually 10-3. Many football programs would kill for a 10-win season. This year the over/under for Clemson is 10.5 wins - if they hit the over they'd be considered back among the elite juggernauts but another 10-win season would have people wondering if Dabo Sweeney has lost his mojo. College football is a fickle sport and Clemson may have trouble getting to 11 wins this season... I'm an awful person for laughing at this... Paid $3.99 a gallon for gas yesterday in New Hampshire. Who would have thought two-years ago that I'd be impressed by that... Funny to think that the package tour travel is credited by most with being invented by Thomas Cook and his first package was a train trip for 500 people to a Temperance event (Cook was a strict Baptist and teetotaler). Now perhaps the most common package tours are for things like Carnival Cruises and Sandals. Evolution from temperance to debauchery - I find that amusing... Wow - you learn something new every day... Demonized Sounds would be a good name for a 70's rock cover band... The Atlanta Falcons must be so grateful these days that their trade offer for Deshaun Watson was beat by Cleveland. Sure it ended up costing them Matt Ryan but now almost everyone forgets they were ever even interested in Watson. Whew! Bullet dodged... Over the past few weeks I've become increasingly upset with myself because I've (again) started to allow politics to make me angry. I need less anger in my life not more but damn the Biden Administration's incompetence and willingness to ignore the law is making ignoring politics a Herculean task. God give me strength...
