What's funny is upon reading the headline "Supreme Court Justice to Retire" many conservatives thought "Please be John Roberts, please be John Roberts!"... The Neil Young debacle is more proof for my theory that during the pandemic the closer a person gets to death the more they are willing to sacrifice their ideals for THEIR perceived safety. Neil Young was actively advocating for censorship - do you think that's anything a younger Neil would have been for? Look to Howard Stern and Arnold "fuck your freedoms" Schwarzenegger as other examples... If Joe Biden and the Democrats were to nominate a far-Left nominee to the Supreme Court would that put substantial pressure on West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin to switch parties? Serious question. If Biden was to nominate Kamala Harris for example that could be the last straw for Manchin... Have to say I have a hard time getting worked up about Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens not getting elected to the Hall of Fame. Bonds was paid over $188 million and Clemens over $150 million during their careers. Boo hoo!.. After you check into your new hotel room you happen to notice that there's some food that’s been left in the mini-fridge - do you eat it? Relax - just a thought experiment (it was a half-eaten chicken cutlet sandwich and it was delicious)... Used to care very much about the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot and election but not any more because the BWAA (Baseball Writers Association of America) have proven to be a complete clown show. I went to the Hall once but wouldn't again - even if I were staying in Cooperstown on business and had the afternoon completely free... Was just joking about the chicken cutlet sandwich (felt the need to clarify - it was roast beef)... Not sure there was any truth to the rumor that the Left plans to counter the success of Kid Rock's We the People song with a COVID Talent Show hosted by Stephen Colbert. Just kidding but that wouldn't surprise me... When I was an underage kid we would hang out outside a liquor store asking strangers to buy beer for us. In Canada unvaccinated adults may soon be doing a similar thing standing outside grocery stories asking strangers to buy them milk and bread. Madness!... Speaking of the Baseball Hall of Fame - on the coast of Lake Champlain in New York is a town called Coopersville. Just based on the name - wouldn't that be a good place for a Minor League Baseball Hall of Fame?... As always if this column has made you smile or think - don't be afraid to hit the like button.
