Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

As expected - President Trump issued an Executive Order ceasing federal funding of NPR and PBS. This has been a long time coming. Mr. Rogers passed away and Big Bird and the rest of Sesame Street took the big money from HBO and all that’s left is DNC talking points. Who wants tax dollars going toward that?… Could CNN's Scott Jenning's really run to take Mitch McConnell Senate seat with Donald Trump's support? That would be interesting to watch... Have to wonder if Bill Belichick's spat with CBS makes it more likely the coach will finally accept his Presidential Medal of Freedom? Donald Trump famously is also not a fan of CBS and their selective editing. Belichick was supposed to accept the award but the event was cancelled after the events of J6... We’ve all heard the arguments of how WalMart was killing Main Street small shops but how come we never hear those same arguments applied to Amazon? Often they deliver Chinese knockoff products at reduced rates and quality that’s worse than anything you could find at WalMart. This is Exhibit A why country of origin labeling is needed… Evidence against a cashless society can be found in attending events that only have digital tickets. When there were paper tickets paid for in cash there were often scalpers at events yelling "Tickets!" The prices were lower then too - I often got tickets at or below face value from scalpers. When tickets went digital and there was a captive audience the prices went up and various non-essential fees were just added to the costs... Question that will keep you up nights: can a current employee of the federal government receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom or have to wait until they are no longer employees? Thinking specifically of Elon Musk who is heading up DOGE... Now that the NFL Draft has come and gone - many outlets will be offering up their mock 2025 NBA Draft lists. Don’t fall for these time wasters either. Cooper Flagg goes first and after that then it’s a crap shoot. Nobody knows anything… When Donald Trump refers to a “transition period” he’s referring to the economy. When a Democratic politician refers to a “transition period” they may be referring to tampons in the boys bathroom. That’s the situation in a nutshell… My dream list of people who should receive the Presidential Medal of Honor include: Belichick, Musk, Thomas Sowell, Dolly Pardon, and Mel Brooks. Am I missing anyone?... As mention - I’m flying out today to see the Kentucky Oaks race and tomorrow it’s the Kentucky Derby. Truly a bucket list event. Wish me luck…
